Music that you probably don't know...but should!
Hey guys, this is Ivy with yet another tip. For those of you that don't have enough variety of music in your life, I have provided a list of some of my favorite lesser-known artists. Just because a singer or band isn't on the top-100 charts doesn't mean they don't have great music!

1. Priscilla Ahn
My fave song by her: Dream

Oh my gosh, her songs are so pretty. I discovered her on Pandora, and I fell in love with her voice the moment I heard it.

2. Coldplay
My fave songs by them: Fix You, The Scientist, Paradise

Coldplay is more well known, most people know Paradise, but they have a lot of songs that aren't as well known but are really good.

3. The Lumineers
My favorite songs by them: Ho Hey, Dead Sea

Almost everyone knows Ho Hey, but all their other songs aren't well known.

4. Audrianna Cole
Favorite song by her: Ain't Gonna Letcha

I found her music last summer, she came to this art and music festival in my town. She was doing a performance there, but it's not like a thing where you pay for a ticket and then you go see the person, it's like you just go to the festival and you listen to whoever's performing. Anyway, she was performing at this music festival, and I thought her songs were really cool. So I got one of the free single CDs she was giving out, and I still have it! It's also signed by her, which is pretty cool.

5. Colbie Caillat

My favorite songs by her: Bubbly, Fallin' for You, Fearless

Her songs just feel so fresh and summery! She also writes her own stuff, and you can relate to almost every single song. Now it sounds like I'm describing Taylor Swift, but they did Taylor's song "Breathe" together. But anyway, I first heard her song "Bubbly" when I was really little, probably I was 6 or 7. I didn't know who it was, but I loved that song. Then, years, later, I heard it on Pandora. I've been listening to her ever since.

That's all.

D.I.Y. Polka-Dot Nails

D.I.Y. Polka-Dot Nails
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in, like, a month. :( I've been pretty busy. I did these nails half-a-month ago, and I was SO happy with how they turned out. So I decided to do a tip on how to do them.

You will need:

A light color of nail polish ( I recommend pink or mint blue)

Black nail polish

A pin that has one of those balls on the end (this kind: http://www.photo-dictionary.com/photofiles/list/7448/10009pin.jpg )

clear overcoat

bottle cap

1. Paint your nails with the light color. I did 2 coats.

2. Wait for the light color to dry.

3. After the light color is done drying, pour a little bit of black nail polish into the bottle cap.

4. Dip the head of the pin into the black nail polish that you poured into the bottle cap. Make a dot on your nail using the pin head. Do 3-6 dots on each nail, depending on the size of your dots.

*For varying sizes in dots, use different sizes of pin heads.*

5. Repeat step 4 until all your nails have dots on them.

6. Do one coat of the clear overcoat. This will make the polish last longer. Mine stayed on for 2 weeks!

That's all!

Ivy's Favorite Books!

Ivy's Favorite Books!
Hey Polyvore! I love reading, and there are so many great books that I've read, but here's a list of my absolute favorites! (I don't feel like doing summaries for all of them, so the ones that are really obvious I won't do summaries for)

1. The Hunger Games series, by Suzanne Collins

2. The Harry Potter series, by J. K. Rowling

3. Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick

We read this for school, it's such a good book. I cried at the end. I have no idea how to describe it, but you can look it up.

4. A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L'engle

This is a great book, I think almost everyone knows it.

5. The Warriors series by Erin Hunter

I read these quite a while ago, probably I was 7 or 8, but they are great books. I'm reading one of them over again for school right now. They're about the groups of cats who live in a forest, basically, and um, yeah.

6. Close to Famous by Joan Bauer

About a girl who loves baking that is chased out of her apartment she lives in with her mom to a small town.

7. Drizzle by Kathleen van Cleeve

About a girl who lives on a really weird farm. From the actual summary it sounds like it would be really weird, but it's a good book.

8. Departure Time by Truus Matti

Two different stories, one about a girl who is lost in the desert and hides in an abandoned hotel, the other about a girl who's dad died. Good summer read.

9. The City of Ember

This is a really good book. It's a movie now, too, but the book is better.

10. The Percy Jackson series, by Rick Riordan

I think everybody knows these.

11. The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster.

This is a great book. I've read it probably 5 times.

12. To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee

This is a classic. Everybody should read this.

13. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls

I cried at the end.

14. My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

Again, I cried at the end.

That's all!
